Cox to Yahoo Email Transition Help
May 1, 2024
Hello Gallery Residents,
As you may know Cox is transferring all its @cox.net email accounts to Yahoo email server(s). We are aware that many Gallery residents have a Cox email address that must now transition to Yahoo email. Depending on your device and your email client, the transition may be manageable or it may be complex. It is advised to complete it sooner than later.
Below are instructions for a relatively simple method that will work regardless of the device or email client you use. Thanks to Jimmy Hu for researching this.
STEP ONE: Complete the transaction
There are a couple of simple steps to complete the transition (copy from Cox):
- Log into the Yahoo Mail platform (www.mail.yahoo.com) using your cox.net email address, including @cox.net, and your existing password.
- Review and accept Yahoo’s Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
- You will be prompted to create a new password to use with your cox.net account going forward on Yahoo Mail.
- Contacts and some folders may take up to 48 hours to transfer.
Refer to https://www.cox.com/residential/support/completing-the-transition-to-yahoo.html for more advanced settings, like two step verifications, etc.
STEP TWO: Access cox emails on Yahoo
There are some options to access the cox email(s) on Yahoo after the transition is completed:
- Option #1 - Use the internet browser (IE, Safari, Chrome, etc.), login to mail.yahoo.com to access your emails, using your @cox.net email address and the (new) password.
- Option #2 - For smartphone/tablet, download Yahoo Mail App. Login to the Yahoo Mail App, using your @cox.net email address and the (new) password.
In addition, the members of the Information Technology committee will host a help session Monday at 1:30 pm in the Multi Purpose Room. Participants must bring a device, and their Cox email password. Participation is limited to 25 persons. Registration in advance is required.

The HOA would save significant money each year if all homeowners agreed to receive required documents in pdf format via email.
