South Coast Fire Protection will be conducting the

Five Year Sprinkler Testing.

Mandatory Seagarden Condos and Clubhouse testing June 1 & 2. 

Individual homeowners are able to schedule an inspection for your home at a discounted rate of $75.00 per home if scheduled June 1st or June 2nd. 

Must have at least two homeowners book an appointment to receive the discount price. Regular price is $250.00 for homeowners.

Seagarden Condos

The five year sprinkler certification is required by the Fire Authority to ensure the fire sprinkler system and alarms are working correctly.  This inspection requires allowing entrance to the interior home and garage area to inspect all the sprinkler heads to ensure they have not been painted over or show signs of deterioration.  Additionally they will check the riser to each unit, which is usually located in the garage.

Clubhouse

The sprinkler inspection will take place in the clubhouse and billiards room and should only take a few minutes to complete.

This is what to expect the day of inspection.

For the interior inspections, South Coast Fire Protection will just be taking a quick look at the fire sprinklers to inspect for any sprinklers or covers that have been painted or are corroded, damaged or non-compliant.  They shouldn’t be inside most of the individual homes longer than 5-10 minutes each.  They will also need access to homeowner garages.

As soon as they have completed the inspections inside each unit and their respective garages, residents are free to go about their day.  The tests on the outside of the building shouldn’t be disruptive to the residents, but they will have to test the exterior bells.  Each bell will go off for about 10-15 seconds each, so the residents will hear bells periodically throughout the day, but only for a few seconds each time.  There is usually only one bell per building, and they only let them ring long enough to make sure they work.  If any residents have pets that are particularly sensitive, they may want to take precautions, but otherwise it shouldn’t be too bothersome.

The technicians will always try to minimize disruption to residents as much as possible.
