Landscape * Irrigation * Vehicle Access * New Assistant

September 1, 2020

Good Afternoon,

We have a lot of important information to share with everyone this week so please read this email in its entirety! Thanks.

 Landscape:
Artistic has advised us they mowed the turf lower than normal last week to apply the crabgrass treatment and to allow the fertilizer that is being applied this week to germinate. Due to this mowing has been canceled this week and we will go back to the normal mowing schedule next week.
Since Artistic treated the front yard turf for crabgrass last week you will see the turf yellowing and on the dry side.

The Landscape Committee has uploaded a video to the Gallery Website under the Resident Portal page.  This video is a narration explaining the PowerPoint presentation that was presented at the BOD meeting last week outlining phases 1-4 of the landscape project for the main entrance and the Clubhouse grounds. We encourage all homeowners to take a few minutes to watch and listen to this informative video - it's Mike Pier at his best and includes the history of the work on the entrance and the research and planning for this renovation project.

Irrigation:
We want to inform residents about an issue that has been brought to our attention.  We are asking all owners to advise their personal landscapers to not tamper with the irrigation valves located in the green boxes in the parkways.  The front yard turf and planter irrigation for the street is connected to these association controllers.  These lines no longer hold water within the line 24/7.  Water is only distributed through the irrigation lines when the irrigation controller is on.   We have had an increased number of work-orders indicating that when the irrigation is on there are a few homes where the sprinklers are popped up but no water is coming out. Artistic completed an inspection in these areas and found that the valve box in the parkways had been tampered with.  They believe someone was trying to get more water but when the valve was turned it was not turned back to the on position or in all the way causing the water pressure to remain very low and in some areas to be completely off. Please inform your landscapers they may not touch the association irrigation valves located in the parkways. Residents, please report to the office if you observe anyone tampering with these valves.  Thank you all for your cooperation!

New Reopening Plan:
On Friday, Governor Newsome announced a new colored tiered plan for all of CA to follow.  The first tier is purple, the second is red, the third is orange and the fourth is yellow.  Effective today Orange County is in purple and must remain in this tier a minimum of 21 days.  If the COVID19 numbers reported stay low and continue to drop, we will be allowed to move into the next tier (red) once the 21-day mandatory period has passed. Once we get into the next tier we will remain in that tier for a two-week probationary period. If our COVID19 numbers go up we move back into the previous tier.  We will be monitoring the newly revised COVID19.ca.gov website. If we move into the red tier we will be advised what we may reopen.  We are not permitted to move faster than this new plan.

Vehicle Access System:
As it was announced in the BOD meeting last week, the tags the manufacturer sent Convergent were the incorrect tags for the system Convergent installed.  We are waiting for the new (correct) tags to arrive.  We have placed the distribution for the new tags on hold for the time being as we are going to test the new tags to ensure everything is working properly with no issues before we distribute them to residents.  We will continue to keep you updated on this.

Exciting News
We are excited to announce that we have filled the open Asst General Manager position. We welcome Amy Bone to the Gallery!  She brings many years of hospitality, events, and customer service experience.

Thank you,
